We have been named ‘Large Employer of the Year’ at last week’s Bridgwater and Taunton College apprenticeship awards.
Nominated alongside other local apprenticeship employers, including Hovis and Yeo Valley, this win is the first apprenticeship award for the YTL UK Group.
Wessex Water’s Nathan Story also took home two awards for Higher Apprentice of the Year and the James Satchell Memorial Award for Outstanding Contributions to Apprenticeships.
Head of Academy and Skills Becca Thurston said: “Nathan joined us at the tender age of 16 as a repair and maintenance apprentice before becoming our first ever level three Civil Engineering apprentice.
"Now, nearly ten years later, he is about to complete his level four and has ambitions to progress on to a degree apprenticeship, while also managing and mentoring a number of apprentices on their journeys through civil engineering.
"Nathan is an amazing example of how apprenticeships can support individual development and business stability. He is an absolute credit to the business."
